Is It Good To Quit ?
By Victor Scardella

Quitters never win - or so they say...
But, sometimes, stress from life can become so overwhelming that quitting can feel good.
Just the
sense of relief from that stress can make a person (like myself) feel good.
I have spent my whole life using quitting as the answer to how to deal with stress.
The problem with that is the relief is only from the situation that I quit.
Usually it actually creates another stressful situation and generates an endless cycle of quitting a series of stressful situations.
No good can come from quitting just to relieve stress !
The best way to handle stress is :
First, to acknowledge that a situation is stressful.
Second, to take a break from the stressful situation, which accomplishes two things:
A.) being able to get some peace for personal health reasons.
B.) regrouping in order to prioritize and develop a plan or
strategy in how to get through the situation  with as little
     stress as possible.
Seeking out the wisdom and council of others is a good way to get advice from people who are outside of the stressful situation and can see it from an objective view point.
Sometimes when we are in a stressful situation, it is hard to see what the solution is and the best way to handle it.   We need to step outside of the stress and take a fresh look at it.   Even that can be difficult because we are directly involved with the stressful situation.   That is why it is important to seek out other people who are NOT currently  in that situation.   Maybe they have already gone through that type of situation before and can offer good advice based on their own experiences.
We should also be open and willing to be brutally honest with ourselves and be prepared to follow through with the good advice that we receive from others.
If we ever hope to end the endless cycle of unsuccessfully dealing with stressful situations,  we need to be willing to consider thinking outside of our normal realm of thinking and use careful self analysis along with logical planning instead of  reacting to our emotions .   Only then can we find happiness and satisfaction  from within ourselves and joy in our situations of life.
