Do Dreams Come True
? By Victor Scardella It was the summer of 2008 and I, Victor Scardella was enjoying a night of camping out and spending time in the woods. The very woods where I spent much of my childhood exploring and plying in. As I had spent my childhood growing up in the suburb of Chili, NY just west of the greater city of Rochester, NY. |

| As I was enjoying the peace, quiet and serenity of
the woods behind my old house, the devil himself came to me with a
disturbing accusation. He said, "you have been a failure your
whole life. Why don't you just end your life right now, right
here !" Feeling very distraught over the devil's accusation, I
took it to God in Prayer. I told God about the devil's
accusation and I asked God, "Could this really be true ?"
"Could I have been a failure my whole life ?" God, being the
greatest judge, said "let's take a look at the evidence and see if this
accusation is true or not". God began his trial by telling me, "when you were a child, you had dreams of what you wanted your future to be". Then God asked me, "what did you dream about for your future when you were a child" ? "Well, " I began by saying, "I dreamed about traveling when I was a child." "I always wanted to travel and see new places". God then asked me, "and did you travel as an adult" ? "Yes", I said, "I traveled all over the USA for 30 years". "I got to see many cities and towns all across the country". "OK", God said, "and what else did you dream about as a child" ? "Well", I continued, "I dreamed about driving all kind of different vehicles and operating different kinds of equipment". God then asked me, "and did you get to drive vehicles and operate equipment" ? "Yes", I said, "I got to drive all kinds of vehicles during the past 30 years in several different states. And I got to operate some different kinds of machinery on a farm in Pennsylvania and at another place in the country in Ohio". "OK", God said, "what else did you dream about as a child" ? "Well", I continued, "I dreamed about working with horses and learning all about them and maybe even go horseback riding". God then asked me, "and did you get to do that" ? "Yes", I said, "I got to work with horses and I learned all about them and even got to go horseback riding in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Indianapolis". "OK", God said, "what else did you dream about as a child" ? "Well", I continued, "I dreamed about working with electronics". God then asked me, "and did you get to do that" ? "Yes", I said, "I found out that I had a God given gift in computers and I got to use that gift in computers in several different places and jobs including some rescue missions and other places where your ministry is preached". "OK", God said, "is there anything else you would like to add to your testimony" ? "Yes", I said, "I have discovered that along my life's journey I have found and developed a personal relationship with God, the father, Jesus my Saviour and the Holy Spirit who helps to guide me. "OK", God said, "It sounds like you have been successful throughout your adult life". "You succeeded at fulfilling your childhood dreams." "With all that success, how could you think or believe that you have been a failure your whole life ?" I said, "God, you are right, I have been successful my whole life and not a failure at all !" And God said, "Case Dismissed !" Each person has had their own unique dreams as they grow up, and each person's idea of success is different. If we have lived our lives based on what we have dreamed about or even changed our minds along the way about what we want to accomplish in our life, then we have succeeded in life and not failed at all ! Life is an adventure and we must endeavor to get as much out of it as we can. Never give up on fulfilling a dream, only strive to stay on the right path to get you to that dream and seeing it fulfilled ! Diversions are only temporary rest breaks and can be considered time for contemplating things we have learned along the way. Once the rest break and contemplating time is over, we must get back on the trail that leads to our goal. And try to enjoy the journey that life has set before us and have some fun along the way. |
